About Our Business
Five years ago, after more than two decades of active duty in the Army, I found myself doing something I hadn't expected: looking at problems the way I'd been trained to. I'd spent my career solving challenges under pressure, thinking through every angle, then executing with precision. When I left that world, I realized most businesses I encountered didn't operate that way at all. They operated like they were just filling time until the day was done.
My son and I grew up together in the woods—hiking trails, camping, building fires, learning how nature teaches you to pay attention. You notice small details out there. You respect what you're doing because the consequences are real. That mindset never left either of us. So when I started this, he came on as my partner without hesitation. We both knew what it meant to do something the right way, even when no one was watching.
Those first jobs were scrappy. We were learning the business side while staying true to what we believed in. We turned down work that didn't feel right. We stayed late on projects because something wasn't sitting with us. Early clients noticed. They came back, and they told others. What we realized was simple: people are hungry for this. They want to work with people who actually care.
'You don't build something that lasts by chasing every dollar. You build it by staying true to why you started.'
— Owner, Army Veteran
Being veteran owned isn't about the title—it's about discipline and accountability. In the military, you're responsible for more than yourself. You're responsible for the people next to you and the mission. That transfers directly. Every decision we make, we ask: does this serve the client or just us? We've walked away from contracts we could have won because the fit wasn't there. It costs us sometimes. But our people know they're working for a leader who means what they say, and our clients know they're working with someone who won't disappear when the check clears.
Being family operated means we show up differently. My son and I carry the same weight. We don't have a corporate buffer between us and the work. When something goes wrong, we're the first ones to know and the ones doing the fixing. That creates a kind of quality control you can't fake. Our clients feel it. They know the person answering their call is someone with skin in the game, not someone reading from a script who'll be in a different job in six months.
Both of us grew up loving the outdoors—respecting the land, understanding that small choices create big consequences. That translates to how we approach every project. We care about the details that matter. We think about sustainability and longevity, not just the quickest path forward. People notice when you're building something meant to last versus something built to barely hold together until the warranty expires.
Working with us means communication that's straight and clear. You'll get regular updates from people who know your project inside and out. You won't be left wondering what's happening or why something costs what it costs. We walk clients through our thinking because we want you to understand the decisions being made on your behalf.
It also means we're in this together. Your success matters to us—not as a transaction, but as something we want to see through. If you need us to adjust course, we adapt. If something unexpected comes up, we solve it alongside you instead of creating distance. That's the difference between working with a company and working with a team that genuinely cares how your story ends.
If this feels like the kind of partnership you're looking for, reach out. We'll listen more than we talk, and we'll be honest about what we can and can't do. That's how trust starts.
